I asked a perpetual grad student with a philosophy undergrad what the definition of intelligence is. I was surprised when he didn’t hesitate and gave an incredibly succinct answer: retention, synthesis and expansion. To the best of my ability to summarize the explanation I then asked him for, he said to be intelligent one must be able to not just memorize data but to recognize its contextual relationship with other information. Then apply it to analysis, art creation, policy recommendation, personal decisions, etc. Many people can do one of those things well but few can do all three cohesively. Long story short it seems like curators excel at all three :)
