Mark Zuckerberg is an unlikely harbinger to warn Americans that corporations are lacking “masculine energy” and that our culture should “celebrate that aggression.”¹ He exudes none of the traits we typically associate with traditional masculinity. That he bemoaned this apparent American failing to Joe Rogan, every beta bro’s favorite alpha male, read more like whining than aggression.
But this Wednesday, on the same day he had a medical emergency in the morning, a 76-year-old former history teacher brought enough “aggression” to Congress to halt a cybertruck “beast mode”-accelerating in its tracks by the evening. This is not the kind of man who would’ve lied about bone spurs to shirk his responsibilities.
Mr. Zuckerberg, this is what you might call “a real man.”
Instead of gladiating, longtime Connecticut Representative and former football coach John Larson used his words to flex his “masculine energy.” He excoriated the complacency of his colleagues, not in 2.6 seconds but 2.6 sentences.
