What I find maddening is that we’re Julie Andrews twirling with joyful singing about innocent-until-proven-guilty defendants but plaintiffs are treated as though guilty until proven innocent. Accusers must be as pure of heart as they are pure of past indiscretions or current sex drive or owner of any non-ugly underwear at all before they can even proceed with an accusation against an “innocent” man.

I’m inclined to adhere to Blackstones ratio of better ten guilty men escape than one innocent man suffer. But in trials like these, with interrogation about fabric, it seems like only the plaintiff is being scrutinized to the point of suffering.
